The Kitty

The kitty--no, we haven't given her a name (yet ;)--has been coming around for three weeks now, and for the past week, she has spent most of her time here. Just hangin' out.

She sits in front of the door quite often, hoping and praying to be let inside. Loki has gotten a lot nicer toward her, but kitty has gotten a little feisty and has been scratching at the screen a bit. Argh!

I put a box out on the porch for her to sleep in. Since this picture, I added another, slightly smaller box to form a shelter from the wind and the porch lights when they come on at night.

Just stretchin', waiting for some scritches...

Kitty is going to have babies within the next few weeks. These pics were taken a week ago, so she's gotten a little fatter since.

She does a lot of stretching. She spends a lot of her time either on the porch or sleeping on our patio chairs. She does still hunt, and left us our first present (a very dead squirrel--thankfully not our tailless one, George) under the bushes.

Unfortunately, kitty has ear mites, so we can't let her play with Mila anymore. I'm just hoping they haven't traveled from my clothing to Mila and Loki. The vet says she has probably had them most of her life since she's a stray. If she's still around after the babies are born, we will probably...hopefully...have her spayed and possibly vaccinated, plus treated for the ear mites. I'm hoping to at least get her spayed before she can get pregnant again. I'm not sure if we'll ever let her inside the house...we'll see. :)
