I'm so bugged right now. A while ago, I started a lengthy post with pictures from our Black Hills trip and Kenna's first Easter, and there was a glitch where it wouldn't let me do anything so I ended up closing out of it...and it didn't save ANY of it!
So I guess I'll just add a few of those pics to this post. Kenna's nine months old!! Just a few months away from her first birthday....
Not long after she turned six months, Kenna started sitting on her own for short periods of time. She could roll across the room and spin in circles to get toys.
By seven months, she could completely sit alone and she had one bottom tooth.
At eight months old, Kenna was working on her second tooth and was starting to scoot on her tummy. She loves music, and will sway back and forth or side to side in rhythm to her favorite songs. She also knows Mila's name; if I ask her, "Where's Mila?" she'll look around until she finds Mila, then her face lights up with delight.
Kenna just turned nine months old, on the same day that happened to be her great-grandpa's 90th birthday. We went back to Nevis for his birthday party; Kenna was such a happy girl all day, and she had a blast at dinner.Kenna now has two teeth, and is working on her third. She claps her hands, waves, and can push herself up from her hands and knees to sitting. Shortly after she turned nine months, she started crawling on her hands and knees, and now there's no stopping her! She can also pull herself to standing against furniture or in her crib.
She says a few words, "uh-oh" being her favorite right now. She says "dada" all the time, and seems to know that Dan is dada. She says "daw" or "dodd" for dog, and "catcat" for kitty cat. She will often repeat words that we say, and she does pretty well at getting them right (although she obviously doesn't know what they mean yet).
Our little peanut is right around sixteen pounds now, or maybe a little more now. She has been growing slowly but steadily now. It's been difficult getting her to eat food, although she absolutely loves puffs, yogurt melts, and rice rusks. We've been offering a variety of food in different forms (purees, small chunks, big chunks of soft food, etc.) and she'll occasionally take a taste, but she'd much rather play with it. Puffs, on the other hand, go straight into her mouth.Last night, we let her chew on a cucumber, and she really seemed to enjoy that. Probably felt good on her poor, teething gums!
We've have had a lot of fun getting to know our little princess over the past nine months, and we can't wait to see how she grows and changes over time. She is a happy little girl, although she does know how to throw a fit and get her way. When she wants something, she's going to get it! Although her spunk can be challenging at times, I know that it will help her go places when she's older, and I can't wait to see where exactly that is.

Black Hills Trip
We went to the Black Hills at the beginning of April with my parents, grandma, Justin, Trisha, and Connie & Steve and their boys.
It was my first time there, as well as Kenna's.
They all came to our house on a Saturday evening to grill, and we left early Sunday morning, taking our time with a detour through the badlands and a lunch stop at Wall Drug. We arrived at the cabin in Lead that evening to find that it was snowing. It snowed off and on over the few days we were there.

Dan, Kenna, and I explored Lead and Deadwood on Monday.

Then on Tuesday we all drove to Mount Rushmore, taking a scenic detour through Wyoming.
We arrived back home Wednesday afternoon, and had to go back to work on Thursday. :(

And that's our last three months in a nutshell! I'll try to be better about posting more often, but... :)
