July 2018 through August 2018
(read Part 1 here)As long as Part 1 was, this may be even longer. We've had a busy 2nd half of summer!
July (continued)
Kenna got to "help" make cupcakes for her daycare class to celebrate her 2nd birthday. They were a huge hit!
She got a new bed...her very own! At this point, she started going to bed with some "pats" on her back (rather than nursing to sleep)...and she even sleeps through the night most nights now.
She got a new water table for her birthday....
...and got all wet, so everything came off...clothes, diaper and all.
Her birthday party was so much fun. Her party guests included Grandpa Jeff & Grandma Sandy, Great-Grandpa, Debbie, Eric & Alissa, Ian, Jack, and Dawn & Jake, Jeremy, and Sydney.
Grandpa and Grandma brought a bubble machine, a huge hit with the kids!
Kenna has gone potty in the potty chair a few times this summer! What a big girl.
August
Daddy went to Fargo, so Kenna and mommy had a girls' weekend without him. We went shopping and had dinner.
Grandpa & Grandma Hillukka visited with Auntie Trisha. Kenna had so much fun with them! Before this, she hadn't had much time getting to know them, but she really latched onto them this time.
For an entire week, we'd been hearing lots of loud booms, which turned out to be a Pyrotechnics show that is only in town once every four years. My dad, Trisha, Dan and I went to see what all the fuss about...we didn't want to pay for front row seats, so we just found a spot in the parking lot, but we were still able to see some of the higher fireworks.
We visited Lime Creek Nature Center, and checked out some of the trails. It was a little humid, but otherwise pretty nice.
Dan and I even got to leave Kenna with grandpa and grandma, and got away for a nice dinner out.
Then Karissa and Tyler stopped by for a night, along with Isabelle and Eloise. Kenna had fun playing with more of her cousins!
We made a trip to Two Harbors last weekend to celebrate our 6th anniversary. This time we made it a family trip, though. We had fun seeing Auntie Maria, Uncle Steve, and Vali, Anja, and Soren!
Kenna's favorite thing to do was throwing rocks into the water. This is pretty much all she did, anytime we were near the water.
We checked out Tom's Logging Camp....
...and Kenna got to feed the animals!
Breakfast was delicious, and Kenna got a Mickey Cake (which she took 2 bites of, so mom & dad had to finish it :)
We went to Canal Park and saw some boats passing through.
Labor Day Weekend
To finish off the summer, Anthony and Alisha visited, and we enjoyed spending the day yesterday with them. We gave them a tour of Mason City and had lunch, then just relaxed at home. Now, we have another three days off!
How's that for a brief overview of our summer?
Another thing I've been up to involves writing. During August, I took a course on blogging, specifically on the various ways to make money. I started building my blog over the past month, although it'll probably be another month before I'm ready to launch. There's a lot of work involved in really getting a business started, even when it's all virtual.
So that means I'll have even less time for posting on here, although I still plan on keeping this blog for more personal aspects of our lives, for us (and friends and family) only. So stay posted!

Fun updates!
